Inès Adler’s new π counters the firm’s upwardly mobile pricing trend by selling for €9.995/pr whilst still offering 99dB sensitivity and a claimed 40Hz-20kHz bandwidth +/-3dB. Cost savings were achieved with a far smaller simpler enclosure of just 69 x 39 x 31cm at 20kg. The driver loading is referred to as an AST® horn, “neither horn nor bass reflex”. The driver is new too and called AC-1.5. Its membrane treatment was co-developed with the chair of polymer chemistry Prof. Spanger of the Chemnitz University. Optional driver upgrades include neodymium, Alnico or field-coil motors. Voxativ’s wooden driver membrane is optional too as are matching stands.
