I recently had the pleasure of spending the day at the 50,000 square foot Wilson Audio facility in Provo, Utah, about an hour south...

Clarison Digital cables offer S/PDIF and AES connections and feature pure OFC “Litz” wire which consists of multiple strands each individually silver plated. In addition, military-grade shielding provides triple signal protection from electric, magnetic, and mechanical interferences – so that only the pure signal reaches the other end of the cable.
“Clarison Digital cables are designed for high-end digital audio systems requiring pure, unaltered signal between digital components such as Digital-to-Analog Converters (DAC) and Music Servers,” says Mike Zivkovic, president of Teresonic. “Digital cables are more demanding than analog cables requiring higher bandwidth – so all Teresonic cables are designed and tested at over 200 MHz to accommodate rapid transitions in digital signal and to minimize “jitter” and other distortions.”
Clean signal transmission begins with “shielding” which protects music signals in the cable from EMI, RFI and other electric, magnetic, and mechanical interferences such as vibrations. This is where Clarison digital cables excel and are unique in the industry. Military-grade shielding in combination with superior internal geometry enables the audio signal to pass through Clarison cables almost entirely free from external noise, subsequently increasing the sonic fidelity. With the signal to noise ratio so greatly increased, the silent passages in the music become truly silent and all formerly buried micro details enhance the realism and true life of the music.
Clarison cables transmit signals at over 90 per cent of the speed of light – one of the fastest in the industry. Extreme transient response allows you to hear the magnificent revelation of music detail. “[Clarison Digital] was not even broken in and it sounds amazing, sweet natural top end, full midrange and tight dynamic bottom end.” “I really wasn’t prepared for the digital cable. It is so much of the Teresonic attributes… speed, focus, depth of stage, bass control, natural rendition of harmonics and musical detail.” – say customers.
All Clarison Digital cables use professional quality, gold-plated BNC, RCA, and XLR connectors, and all of them are “locking” type to maintain reliable connections over time. They are all at least 1.5 m long or longer (special order) to minimize “reflections” that cause additional undesirable “jitter” effects in shorter digital cables.
The S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format) – using RCA connectors, was created for consumer digital applications. It’s a 75 Ohm cable using exclusively German WBT which we consider the best RCA connectors available. They provide transmission bandwidth of up to 200 MHz that by far exceeds the transmission bandwidth of conventional RCA plugs. This assures transmission of highest order harmonics in all digital applications. Clarison Digital RCA cable 1.5m retails for $395.
AES cables are 110 Ohm, fully balanced cables using three conductors and 3-pin XLR connectors. They carry up to five times (5X) higher level signals than S/PDIF cables and can be used for longer distances of up to 100m. Neutrik XLR connectors are the standard for balanced connections. Clarison Digital XLR cable 1.5m retails for $445.
BNC cables use the same format as AES but instead of 110-ohm balanced line, they use a 75-Ohm unbalanced line over the same coaxial interface as consumer S/PDIF. AES and BNC are the choice of pro audio shops as they can be of much longer lengths – up to
1,000m, than consumer standard S/PDIF with RCA connectors which is limited to 10m. The BNC was originally designed for military use and has gained wide acceptance in video and RF applications up to 2 GHz. Clarison Digital cables use pro quality, gold-plated 75 Ohm BNC connectors designed to meet the needs for high performance impedance-matched cable interconnections to insure low signal distortion. Clarison Digital BNC cable 1.5m retails for $395.
Other lengths can be special ordered at $95 per 0.5m. Customers get a 30-day Total Satisfaction Guarantee and a full three-year warranty.
