The AVM and Legacy Room
Legacy showed its new Helix loudspeakers ($48,000/pair) with a bevy of beautifully crafted components from the German manufacturer AVM. I can’t comment on the sound since the room was quiet when I was there.
The CD 3.2 CD player AVM ($3350) (top) and the AVM Ovation SA8 450 watt/channel stereo power amplifier ($11,880) (bottom).
The AVM PA3.2 preamplifier ($3230) (top) and the AVM SA8 450 watt/channel stereo power amplifier again, this time in white (bottom).
The AVM CD3.2 CD player and AVM PA3.2 preamplifier also come in a polished chrome finish, just like Burmester, for an upcharge of $910 each.
The new AVM CD 5.2 CD player (top) and its stable-mate the AVM PA5.2 preamplifier (bottom). Prices are not yet set.
Also on static display was the AVM C8 CD receiver ($4190), in both black and silver finishes, straddled by the new AVM Auditon S3 loudspeakers ($2700/pair).
