The Balanced Audio Tecknology, Playback Designs and Rockport Technologies
The Sound Environment sponsored a room featuring the New Rockport Avior loudspeakers ($29,500). Unfortunately, they didn’t pull them out far enough from the back wall so the soundstage was flat. They used the Playback Designs MPS-5 SACD player and DAC ($17,000), the BAT VK-52SE preamplifier ($10,000), and the BAT VK-655SE power amplifier ($14,000). Transparent cables abounded.
