The Avalon Acoustics and Jeff Rowland Room

Avalon Acoustics demoed its rarely seen or heard stand-mounted Mixing Monitors ($NA/pair) power by Jeff Rowlands’s new 625 amplifier ($13,500). Pulled well away from the back wall in a well treated room, the loudspeakers threw a deep soundstage, though the overall presentation seemed somewhat veiled. Perhaps it was the source material or paper-thin walls.

The digital source was the dCS Paganini transport ($19,999).

The output of the Paganini transport was routed to a Jeff Rowland Aeris DAC ($9800).

Volume control was handled by the Jeff Rowland Corus preamplifier ($12,800).
