TAD introduced new, lower-cost, but still expensive, products at the show. The speakers were the Compact Reference monitors ($37,000/pair) being driven by a pair of TAD M600 monoblocks ($53,000/pair), both of which have been in the lineup for a while, as has the TAD D600 CD/SACD player ($29,500).
New was the TAD C-2000 preamplifier and DAC ($24,500) and the TAD M2500 300 watt/channel stereo amplifier ($20,600).
Also shown was a prototype floorstanding speaker which will retail for around $28,000. The cost savings arises in part because the midrange cone is magnesium rather than beryllium.
