The Ampex, Cary, deHavilland, Kara Chafee and Sonist Room

Sonist rolled out its new Concerto 4 loudspeaker ($5895/pair) powered by a deHavilland Mercury III preamplifier ($4495) and a pair of Model KE-50A monoblocks ($9995/pair).


 

 

A Cary CD 306 SACD player ($6000) extracted the music from the shiny silver discs.

The big Ampex 350 reel-to-reel was not in use when I was in the room.
