RMAF 2011 Coverage

The Cary Audio, Chapman Audio and MIT Room

I don’t recall hearing of Chapman Audio before, but I thought the speakers - the T-8s ($8995/pair) - sounded very good driven by Cary tube electronics.

The source was a Cary CD 306 SACD player ($7995). A Cary SLP 05 served as the linestage and power was provided by a pair of Cary CAD 211 Founder Edition monoblocks ($19,995), one of which is shown below.

To the right of the amplifier is one of a pair of M.I.T. Oracle MAX speaker interfaces ($24,600/pair), just part of a $36,000 cable package provided by M.I.T.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to spend $36,000 on your speakers and $10,000 on your cables instead of the other way around? Just a thought.
