RMAF 2010 Coverage

Someone got a great RMAF 2010 special price on this good looking pair of Salk Veracity HT3s ($5999).

A Squeezebox Touch ($299) and Oppo BDP-83 ($499). They were pulling a 96/24 signal from the output of the Oppo using an Altona AT-HD577 Audio De-embedder ($279).

I was completely underwhelmed by the sound of the room and, in particular, the construction and quality of the Van Alstine components. Podwered coated stamped sheet metal doesn’t cut it even at these prices. On the other hand, the fit and finish of the Salk loudspeakers was exemplary. Jim Salk needs to find a new partner for these shows.
