Marten Debuts Coltrane 3 Loudspeaker

May 12, 2015

A landmark creation, the Coltrane 3 is a product of the most advanced engineering and audio research ever undertaken by the Swedish brand.

When creating its big brother, the €390000 reference model Coltrane Supreme 2, Marten developed it in its own sound studio to provide the ultimate reference for the speaker’s development. This new addition benefits from that very same research and also shares its sibling’s cutting-edge technology, including first order filters and CELL concept drivers designed in partnership with Accuton.

When you dig further into the build, it’s also revealed that the tweeters, midrange and bass drivers have identical acoustic centres for outstanding timing and flow when the drivers are combined with first order crossover. Plus the Coltrane 3 also boasts incredibly low distortion, which promises to offer superb levels of detail and resolution, even at high volume.

From newly developed, extra rigid fronts and carbon fibre cabinets, Marten state that the utmost precision has been put into every part of this speaker to make it truly ground breaking. It’s certainly likely to be one of the biggest attractions for audiophiles visiting Munich High End. They’ll be keen to check out its capabilities first-hand – a high performance speaker in a lounge-friendly form, and one that proudly continues the Marten mission to dramatically recreate ‘live sounding’ performances in the listener’s home.

Marten exhibits together with American MSB Technology, who introduces their new Select DAC and Swedish cable producer Jorma Design whom display their latest loudspeaker cable Statement in Room F214 at Atrium 4, MOC, Munich May 14-17.
