“Marantz has announced its home cinema ‘dream team’ with the SR5007, a 7.2 channel hub for home cinema alongside the UD5007 Networking Universal Disc Player.
The Marantz SR5007 has six HDMI inputs, including one at the front. Its variety of networking facilities allow audio streaming from PC and Android devices, internet radio, online services and Apple AirPlay. With 100W across each of its seven channels its audio function also offers M-DAX2 – the Marantz Dynamic Expander version 2, which claims to bring additional clarity to MP3 files.
Also incorporated is Audyssey MultiEQ XT and Dynamic Volume Control plus the Marantz Remote App for iPhone. The unit even allows upscaling of low res video to 4K resolution.
Its partner, the Marantz UD5007 Networking Universal Disc Player, not only plays CD and SACD audio files, as well as DVD and Blu-ray discs, but also allows digital streaming from a home network or the internet. It also supports both HDMI and RCA analogue connections.
Both newcomers enjoy advanced power-saving features and auto power-off circuitry and both are available in a black or silver-gold finish.
The Marantz SR5007 is priced at £700 with the UD5007 coming in at £500.”
