Legacy Audio Introduces Goliath XD Subwoofer

April 16, 2013

Legacy Audio introduces Goliath XD, our deepest performing subwoofer yet, featuring two 15” ultra-bass drivers, two 15” passive radiators, 1000 Watts of internal amplification, and 24-bit DSP.

Goliath XD’s ultra-bass drivers utilize a Silver/Graphite/Rohacell composite diaphragm and vented motor structure while the two 15” custom weighted passive radiators provide deep extension without port noise. The visceral bass
from the Goliath XD rises and falls so quickly in the room that boom and droning is virtually non-existent.

Goliath XD employs the XP-4080 digital processor. This 4 input x 8 output, 32 bit DSP allows for low pass crossover settings with slopes ranging from 6 to 48 dB/octave. A pair of Goliath XD’s can be used with one processor alongside Aeris or Whisper XD. The provided algorithm precisely mates the response of the long-excursion 15” drivers to the enclosure tuning frequency set by twin weighted 15” passive radiators. Eight parametric filters can be readily adapted to assure accurate room power response. The DSP adds a synchronization feature to align up to four subwoofers in time. Each of the woofers is powered by its own 500 Watt ICEpower® module with power saver feature when not in use.

Kettle drums with roll and thunder, kick drums will have visceral punch and pedal notes will surge with this Goliath of a subwoofer.
