Emotiva Launches New Reference Quality Five-Channel XPR-5 Amplifier

Building on the excitement generated by the announcement of its flagship XMC-1 Preamplifier/Processor, Emotiva Audio Corporation, the company whose passion for impeccable sound is manifest in every product bearing its name, today announced the XPR-5 Five-Channel Reference Power Amplifier.

Designed to be as visually appealing as it is sonically captivating, the XPR-5 features a faceplate constructed of 25 millimeters of solid billet aluminum, tooled, machined, engraved, and finished like fine jewelry. A high performance metering system consisting of 60 dimmable dual-color LEDs hidden behind a smoked polycarbonate window, along with variable intensity Reference Series accent lighting, complete an aesthetic that is recognizably Emotiva, yet indisputably one of a kind.

The stunning design merely hints at the impressive amplification technology within. The XPR-5 boasts five high-efficiency Class AB power amplifier modules powered by a massive 3.3 kVA Optimized Class H™ toroidal power supply with astounding power reserves. All of the internal electronics are controlled, monitored, and protected by an advanced ARM-7 microprocessor with a custom operating system for absolute reliability. The result is an incredible and effortless 400 watts per channel into eight Ohms, and 600 watts per channel into four Ohms, when all five channels are driven, with vanishingly low noise and distortion, unparalleled efficiency, and an astonishing amount of headroom.
