Meridian
Meridian introduced two new architectural speakers at CES replacing the venerable DSP420. To the left is the DSP520 ($5000 each), which is said to be the equivalent of the DSP3200, and to the right the DSP640 ($7000 each), which is said to be the equivalent of the DSP5200.
Meridian also had the latest iterations of its reference components on hand - the 818.2 digital preamplifier, the 808.5 CD Player and digital preamplifier, and the 861.8 surround sound processor, all of which now have linear power supplies, new Meridian Digital Media System (formally known as Sooloos) inputs, and the new SpeakerLink output boards with improved oscillators which reduce jitter another 40% below their already infinitesimal levels.
Also demoed were the newest DSP7200 Mk2 loudspeakers ($39,000) with new tweeters, crossovers, and digital electronics. Upgrades to the DSP7200s as well as the Reference components are available to existing owners.
