CES 2011 Coverage

Robert Harley declared the Constellation Audio Hercules power amplifier ($140,00 pair) the most innovative component of the show. I can’t fathom why. It’s another big, high-wattage amp that looks like a radiator. The new Boulder monoblocks are more powerful, better built, and are beautifully designed. The Tidal Sunrays sounded fine here, but I thought they sounded better with the BALabo electronics upstairs. The other Constellation components looked like very dramatically lit blocks of modeling clay. To each his own.
