CES 2011 Coverage

Gamut

Gamut was having a problem with side wall reflections with its M’inenT M7s and came up with radical toe-in a a solution, which rendered the soundstage both narrow and amorphous.

These Danish guys really know how to design a good-looking product without going overboard or being idiosyncratic.

The Kelly Audio Triangle Art turntable was new to me.

You might have noticed a trend among exhibitors of opening the curtains on what was a really bright day. While I applaud the move away from the cave-like rooms at RMAF and over at the Flamingo, may I suggest using the sheers? You really can’t appreciate the design, fit and finish of the components on display when you are looking into a blinding sun. And while I am wandering off subject, the Venetian has the best carpet at any show I’ve covered.
