CES 2011 Coverage

Perfect8 Technologies

Waterfall is not the only manufacturer going the glass enclosure route. Perfect8 ups the ante by adding gold to the equation. Shown here are the $375,000 The Force “Music Sculptures of Glass and Gold” aka loudspeakers, which combine a full-length ribbon with eight cone midrange units and a subwoofer handling the load below 60Hz. Unlike the more diminutive Waterfalls, I don’t think your wife is going to want these in her living room. They weren’t playing when I was in the room so I won’t pass judgment on their sound. Electronics were by Ypsilon. Cables were not by Kubala-Sonsa.

Shown here are The Force (outside), and a pair of The Points sitting on a pair of The Cube subwoofers (inside).

The smaller music sculptures of glass and gold in an adjacent room were not nearly as visually compelling. Woofers facing in rather than out?
