CES 2011 Coverage

I highlighted the Sony SS-AR1 loudspeakers (I was quoted $20,000/pair, but I have seen in other coverage $27,000/pair) in my coverage of the Kimber Iso-Mike room. Sony had its own room as well. Here’s a photo of the cabinet construction. It’s layers of Baltic birch, like the older Magico speakers.

In an adjacent room, they had a pair set up with Pass Labs and EMM electronics. Dave Brubeck’sTime Out never sounded so live.
