The Harmon Group did not introduce any new products, but it is always enjoyable listening to Mark Levinson components driving the big Revel Salon2 loudspeakers ($22,000/pair). Those are the Mark Levinson No. 53H monoblocks ($50,000/pair) fronted by a No. 326S preamplifier ($10,000) and No. 512 SACD player ($15,000). Also shown was the No. 502 surround sound processor ($30,000).
In a side room they had a similar setup substituting the No. 532 stereo amplifier ($8,000) for the No 53Hs, and the JBL Synthesis 1400 Array ($11,500/pair) for the Salon2s. I’ll take the Revel over JBL Synthesis any day. The latter sounded, shall we say, piercing.
