The YG Acoustics Room

YG Acoustics made a big splash this with the introduction of the Carmel pictured below in relation to its big brother the Anat Reference II as well as in close. The room was heavily treated and the little Carmels imaged like nobody’s business and completely disappeared in the room. I was very impressed. Obviously they do not have the last octave of bass supplied by the Anats, but the bass they had was clean and articulate. I thought they were a little bright, but I am used to a more “polite” speaker. Their construction was faultless. The $18,000 price range is a crowded field, but I thought the Carmels were a standout performer. They were demonstrated with a dcs digital front end, Krell Evolution 202 preamp and big Krell FPB 400cx power amplifiers.
