The Aesthetix, Clearaudio, Sonus Faber Room

Another good sounding room featured Clearaudio turntables, Aesthetix components and Sonus Faber Cremona M loudspeakers. Kubala Sonsa speaker cables were also in evidence. Not surprisingly, the Oppo BDP-83 was not getting much play.

Clearaudio introduced a new $1400 turntable - the Concept - sporting a Benz Ace cartridge. It was impeccably constructed and would be on my short-list in that price range.

The phono preamp for the Concept was Jim Fosgate’s new Fosgate Signature first shown at RMAF.

The Concept shared vinyl spinning duties with the Innovation Compact outfitted with a Benz Wood SM cartridge. Humidity must have been very low because the vinyl everywhere acted as a dust magnet.

The Aesthetix Janus served as both phono preamp for the Innovation Compact and line stage for the complete setup.

Power was provided by a pair of Aesthetix Atlas monoblocks.

The Graham Engineering Phantom II tonearm took a 2009 Product of the Year Award from TAS. It is beautifully made. A real work of art.
