CES 2010 Coverage

Jonathan Tinn’s room was stuffed with his Evolution MMTwo speakers and the latest components from Playback Designs and DarTZeel. In a room so small, there was only one sweet spot, and it was the only place to be. The speakers sounded just great.

The Playback Designs MPS-5 CD/SACD player. Now where have I seen that before?

This was the world premiere of the darTZeel NHB-458 monoblock amplifiers. Although capable of delivering up to 1000 watts, the Evolution MMTwo’s are so easy to drive, they were playing at a very listenable volume with less than 1 watt RMS and 5 watts peak as shown on the front panel display.

Jonathan also brought along a beautifully refurbished Garrard 301 turntable. What a beauty. One of my favorite things at CES.

The best advice I can give to Jonathan is to move over to the Venetian next year where the rooms are bigger and he is in better company. His products deserve it.
