The Meridian Room

Meridian introduced the new 861v6, G68SL and G61R. The G61R and the G68 do not have an MMHR or 4xSPDIF input for 7.1 discrete. The 861V6 has an MMHR input for connection to the HD621. The G61R has all single-ended analog outputs. The G68SL has eight balanced outputs and two single ended outputs analog output (Rz and Lz). It also introduced the 808.3 CD player, successor to the 808.2.

Upgrade to 861v6
- from v1 or v2 upgrade: $17,995
- from v3 or v4 upgrade: $15,995

Upgrade to 808.3
- from v1: $14,995
- from v2 : $12,495

It is actually an exchange rather than an upgrade, since the 861v4/808.2 boards are not compatible with the new architecture of the 861v6/808.3. There is no upgrade from any of the G68 variants to the G68SL.

Here are some photos of the back of the G61R, G68SL and 861v6 to give you an idea of the connectivity options for the new processors.
