Source: Press Release
Indianapolis, IN - The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) will host four all-new discussion panels at its annual EXPO this September, each designed to help attendees shed light on a current hot topic in the electronic systems industry. In addition, CEDIA University will offer all-day education sessions focused on two pressing issues for technicians and business owners.
The panel discussions, developed by CEDIA’s Technology Council and moderated by industry veteran Michael Heiss, will feature a combination of top-level industry executives and experienced electronic systems contractors. The first session, How to Make Money and a Difference in the Green Building Industry, will discuss the opportunities and threats associated with environmentally conscious projects. Panelists will include Luke Morton, Fergus Garber Group; Ken Erdmann, chairman, CEDIA; and Collin Breakstone, vice president, Agilewaves.
The second discussion, titled 3D: What You Must Know, will be held Thurs., Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. and will cover format issues and design considerations surrounding 3D technology. Panelists include Rick Dean, CEO, 3D@Home Consortium, Vice President THX; Guido Voltolina, director, Image Technology; Art Berman, Insight Media; and David Aleksandersen, CPS training program manager, Projection Design.
The third session, the HDMI Hot Seat, is scheduled for Fri., Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. This discussion will cover the features of HDMI, current issues, future options and possible alternatives. Panelists include Steve Venuti, president, HDMI Licensing, LLC; Mark Stockfisch, vice president & CTO, Quantum Data; Dan Jackson, marketing and development engineer for Crestron Electronics; and Eric Lee, president, Integrated Control Experts.
The fourth panel discussion, tentatively titled Watch This Space, will be held at 9 a.m. Sun., Sept. 13. In this rapidly changing industry, unforeseen issues often arise in the weeks just before the show. Watch This Space is reserved for an in-depth discussion on the one issue organizers were unable to predict in advance. The topic will be announced mid-August.
In addition to the Technology Council’s suite of panel discussions, CEDIA will also deliver two intensive education sessions Sun., Sept. 13 focused on relevant industry issues. The Business CEO Summit will help attendees leverage employee leadership to maximize productivity, and the Retrofit Super Session will help technicians broaden their knowledge of retrofit-oriented products, skills and techniques.
