Bryston

Bryston again showed off its SP3 surround sound processor ($9500). The good news is that it will be shipping at the end of September.

Bryston also showed off a prototype of its new BHA-1 headphone amplifier (~$1295), shown here atop the BCD-1 CD player ($2695). The 4-pin XLR is a balanced stereo connector; the two 3-pin XLRs are the left/right balanced connectors, and there is also a standard 1/4″ stereo jack. I didn’t know headphones had balanced connectors, but apparently they are available for very high end cans.

Also shown were the relatively new BDP-1 digital media player ($2195) (top) and BDA-1 DAC ($1995) (bottom). The BDP-1 uses a modified ESI Juli@ soundcard for its digital output on BNC.

Bryston’s top-of-the-line BP26 stereo preamplifier ($2995) with optional MPS-2 external power supply ($1695). An internal DAC card ($1395), as well as internal MM and MC phono cards ($600 and $1395, respectively), are available.

Byston also displayed its full line of power amplifiers. Shown below is the 1000 watt 28B SST2 monoblock ($9600).

The 14B SST2 600 watt/channel stereo amplifier ($9550) is essentially a pair of 7 B SST2 monoblocks ($5100/each) in a single chassis.

The 9B SST2 five-channel 150 watt/channel amplifier ($8095).

The 6B SST2 three-channel 300 watt/channel amplifier ($7995)

The 4B SST2 300 watt/channel stereo amplifier ($4995).

The D250Z 4-zone eight channel amplifier (75-250 watt/channel depending on configuration).

Shown in prototype was the BIT20 20 amp isolation transformer and power conditioner ($TBA). It will also be available in 5 amp and 15 amp versions.
