Pioneer TAD

Buried among all of Pioneer’s mass-market consumer electronics were the crown jewels of its collection, the TAD Reference Series. Those are the Compact Reference monitors ($37,000/pair). Jonathan Valin thinks that if you don’t have room for Magico Q5s, you should buy the TAD Compact Reference Monitors, which are the same size. Go figure.

The TAD C-2000 preamplifier and DAC ($24,500)

The TAD D600 CD/SACD player ($29,500).

The TAD M2500 300 watt/channel stereo amplifier ($20,600).

Fun fact to know and tell: TAD is the abbreviation for Technical Audio Devices.
