I was surprised to see Cary at CEDIA. I don’t think of them as a company that caters to the predominately home installation trade. Nevertheless, their show area was four times that of Theta and they had all of their products on display. Here are a few:
Cinema 11a HDMI 1.3 compatible 7.1 surround sound processor ($4,000) and Cinema 11v HDMI 1.3 compatible video processor ($4,000).
I did not see a Blu-ray player.
As you are able to deduce, the Model 7.125 ($4,000) is a seven channel, 125 watts/channel power amplifier.
For the two-channel aficionado, Cary showed its Model CD500 upsampling HDCD player ($TBA) and Model 2.200 stereo power amplifier ($3,000) with, you guessed it, 200 watts/channel. The CD500 upsamples up to 768KHz which you can select incrementally from the front panel.
Seen before were the Exciter Music Server ($2800) and the Exciter USB Dac ($2800).
They have stiff competition from the comparable units from Bryston shown above. I know which ones I would choose.
