Rotel

Rotel had a host of new products on the showroom floor. Here is their RCX-1500 100 watts/channel receiver with CD player and FM and internet radio. It has a USB input on the front and is Wi-Fi enabled. Cost: $1,500.

Top to bottom are the RDG-1520 FM and internet radio tuner ($999), the RC-1550 stereo preamplifier ($699), and the RB-1552 120 watts/channel stereo power amplifier ($899).

The RA-1520 watts/channel integrated amplifier ($999).

Top to bottom are the RCD-1520 CD player ($999), the RC-1580 preamplifier ($1,299) and the RB-1582 200 watts/channel power amplifier ($1,499).

Shown below are two special edition components, the RA-05 SE 40 watts/channel integrated amplifier ($599) and the RCD-06 SE CD player ($599).

It comes as no surprise that Rotel makes home theater components. Here is the RSX-1550 audio/video receiver capable of powering five channels at 100 watts/channel ($1,999).

The next step up is the RSX-1560 ($2,599). It drives seven channels at 100 watts/channel.

If you prefer to go with separates, there is the RSP-1570 surround sound processor ($2,199).

You could pair it up with the RB-1572 250 watts/channel two channel amplifier ($1,299) and the RMB-1575 250 watts/channel five channel amplifier ($2,799).

Rotel components also come in black and rack mount kits are available for custom install. The component with the large display is their top of the line RSP-1580 surround sound processor ($4,500).

I am a fan of Rotel products. I think they represent remarkable value. For the upper mid-fi cuatomer, I would rank them ahead of comparably priced offerings from Denon, Marantz and the other usual suspects. I have a RMB-1066 six channel amplifier powering my side and rear speakers. The remaining two channels are reserved for a second pair of side channels or height channels sometime down the road.
