I spoke with Chris Neumann this afternoon concerning the status of the CBIII HDMI upgrade. Beta testing is going well. They expect to begin accepting units for upgrade at the end of October. Regarding priority of upgrades, there is none. All upgrades will be performed on a prepaid, first-in, first out basis. Period. Turn-around time for the upgrade will be approximately four weeks.

That looks like a new five-channel version of the Dreadnaught III matching the CB3 and Compli-Blu cosmetics.

I asked about a successor to the Compli-Blu that was HDMI 1.4 compatible. Chris said that it is something they are looking into, but nothing is on the immediate horizon. This is not surprising. Oppo has not introduced an HDMI 1.4 compatible player.
