Marantz

Marantz had a big display area with lots of products on exhibit. Conspicuously missing was the anxiously awaited Marantz UD7005 ($899) 3D Blu-ray player. A Denon rep told me they had decided to delay releasing the DBP-2011BDCI ($799) now as a 3D-ready unit with 3D firmware to follow, and instead ship it January fully 3D enabled. Since the two players are, as far as I can tell, identical, that might explain the delay on the Marantz UD7005 as well.

That is the Marantz AV8003 Networking AV Preamp/Processor ($2,599) on the bottom. I was hoping to see an update in the form of an AV8005 with HDMI 1.4 compatibility, but it looks like we will have to wait until CES. An MM8003 eight channel power amplifier ($2,399) sits on top.

Marantz had a whole wall filled with its champagne-colored Reference Series components. They looked very attractive.

Here’s the SA-11S2 SACD player ($2,999).

The PM-11S2 100 watts/channel integrated stereo amplifier ($3,999).

The MA-9S9 300 watt monoblock power amplifier ($5,999).

The SC-7S2 stereo preamplifier with MM/MC phono stages ($6,499) (top) and the SA-7S1 SACD player ($5,999) (bottom).

The SC-S11S1 stereo preamplifier ($2,999).

The SM-11S1 watts/channel stereo power amplifier ($5,999).

The PM-S15S2 90 watts/channel integrated stereo amplifier ($2,499).

The SA-S15S2 SACD player ($1,999).

And finally, the TT15S1 turntable ($1,499).
