Lexicon

Not much new going on with Lexicon. The only new product was the DD-8 eight channel amplifier ($2,499) with 125 watts/channel. It uses “DriveCore technology” (it’s the small chip shown to the right in the bottom photo), which it co-developed with Texas instruments. Although I am not certain, I believe it a Class H amplifier.

On top is the BD-30 Blu-ray player ($3,499) - the controversial Oppo BDP-83 in a $3000 Lexicon box. At bottom are the front and back of the venerable, if long in the tooth, MC12HD surround sound processor $9,999 - $13,999).

You’ll need some amps for your home theater and Lexicon has you covered. Shown from top to bottom are the also venerable GX-7 125 watts/channel ($4,999), the RX-7 200 watts/channel ($5,999), and the ZX-7 300 watts/channel ($7,999) seven channel power amplifiers. I believe I remember hearing that these are rebadged amplifiers from ATI.

I have the distinct feeling that Lexicon is simply treading water.
