The Aerial Acoustics, Audio Research, Krell, Technics, and Transparent Room
Audio Images sponsored two rooms. The first featured Aerial Acoustics’ new 7t loudspeakers ($9995) which, while not providing that last octave of bass, did everything else right. They were immensely enjoyable to listen to. Two sources were in play: a Krell Evolution 505 SACD player ($11,000) (darn those bright blue LEDs) and a Technics RS-1500 reel-to-reel deck refurbished by J-Corder.
The remainder of the components were from Audio Research - the Reference 5 preamplifier ($12,000), the Reference 150 stereo power amplifier ($12,995), and even the Reference DAC8 ($4995) was used in lieu of the converters in the Krell.
Transparent Audio provided the cabling and power conditioning.
