Soundsmith always has great sounding rooms at trade shows. This time was no exception. The speakers were the Soundsmith Dragonfly 2 ($700/pair) (inside) and the Monarch (also $700/pair) (outside). They are terrific bargains.
The turntables were both by VPI. First up is the VPI Classic I ($2750) with a modified Denon 103 cartridge.
A step up in size and price is the VPI HR-X turntable ($12,000 with JMW-12.7 tonearm) . A Strain Gauge cartridge ($5499 with phono preamp) is mounted on the rear tonearm and a Sussuro cartridge ($4499) is mounted on the side tonearm.
