AXPONA 2011 Coverage

Sonist had good sound going with its 97db efficient Concert 4 loudspeakers ($5895/pair). The cabinet work was very high quality with the waveguide for the tweeter carved by hand.

The Concerto 4s were driven by Glow Audio’s SET EL84 5 watts/channel Glow Amp One ($648). It’s amazing how loud you can push a high-efficency loudspeaker with just a few watts.

A Cary CD 306 SACD player ($6000) served up the music.
