Audio Classics sponsored the McIntosh rroms and filled it with most of McIntosh’s offerings. They also brought with them the Anthem Integrated 225 integrated amplifier ($1499) and Anthem’s new BLX200 Blu-ray player ($799).
The McIntosh 60th Anniversay MXA60 integrated audio system, complete with 75 watts/ channel AM/FM receiver, SACD player and bookshelf speakers ($7500).
The first McIntosh room was the more spartan of the two. Those are the XLS320 stand mounted monitors ($5000). The center speaker is a new prototype. The sub on the left is the XLS112 ($4000).
The components on the rack (top to bottom) are the MX150 12-channel preamp/processor ($12,000), the MVP881BR Blu-ray player ($8000) and the MC205 5x200w power amplifier ($6500).
Audio Classics pulled out all of the stops for the second room. Those are the XR200 speakers ($20,000).
Components on the rack (top to bottom) include the C2300 tube preamplifier ($6000), the MR88 AM/FM/XM/HD tuner ($4000), the MCD500 SACD player ($6500), the brand new MEN2200 outboard room correction system ($4500) and the MC402 400 watts/channel stereo power amplifier ($7000). These components are downright affordable, at least relative to prevailing high-end pricing. You can see why they have such a devoted following.
That’s it from AKFest.
